Using the app Recap

recap

Now that this year is underway, the World Language department has been playing around with new apps.  Among some of the new ones that we have tried is the app Recap.  This app allows students to individually answer questions and has them make a video of themselves recording their answers.  The app then creates a daily reel that plays all answers in order.  This is a great way to check comprehension and pronunciation of Italian words.

For Level 1, we used the app to practice spelling our names in Italian and pronunciation practice with famous Italian names.  Below are the links to see the daily reel from each:

D Block

F Block

For Level 2, we used the app to review questions about ourselves.  Such as our names, our birthdays and how to say our age.  This was used as a review of important information learned last year, so we can work on any issues we are having and correct any problems with grammar and pronunciation.  Below are the links to see the daily reel from each:

A Block

G Block

For Level 4, we used the app to explain our daily routines using reflexive verbs and the verb “piacere” which means to like.  It was a great way to check that students are using their reflexive pronouns correctly and are able to discuss daily activities with ease.  Below is the link to see the daily reel:

You will definitely be seeing more of this app in the Italian classroom in the future.   Stay tuned for more daily reels by your students!!
